SANCTIONS CAMPAIGN

People across Aotearoa New Zealand have been steadfast in our opposition to Israel’s disregard of human rights and international law.

The time of impunity for Israel's occupation and unlawful behaviour must end. We demand that the New Zealand Government impose sanctions on Israel as a consequence for its breaches of international law.

Chlöe Swarbrick, the co-leader of the Green Party, has put forward the Unlawful Occupation of Palestine Sanctions Bill as a way for New Zealand to adopt sanctions as a concrete legislative measures.

For this Bill to enter the House we need 61 MPs to support it. Fifty-five opposition MPs from the Green Party, Te Pāti Māori and Labour already do; so we need to lobby at least six more Government MPs to support it into Parliament for debate.

We can make this happen by meeting with our local MPs to share that sanctions is an issue that we care about, and want to see them take real action on. We need to make it clear that sanctions is a community issue and something we expect our MPs to respond to.

The sanctions Petition

The Sanction Israel Now petition calls on the New Zealand Government to impose immediate economic, diplomatic and military sanctions on Israel as a concrete consequence for its breaches of international law and human rights violations.

Please add your signature and join the call for imposing sanctions on the state of Israel.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?

The campaign for sanctions will be successful if we all contribute and get our communities educated on this issue. Polling shows that a growing number of New Zealanders support sanctions against Israel - and this Bill is the way to do this. Here are some of the many ways you can contribute to the sanctions movement:
